THERAPY OVERVIEW

Hydrogen gas inhalation improves lung function and protects established airway inflammation in the allergic asthmatic mice model which may be associated with the inhibition of oxidative stress process. This study provides a potential alternative therapeutic opportunity for the clinical management of asthma.

WHY

​Why would you do hydrogen inhalation therapy?  Inhaled hydrogen gas (H2) has been shown to have significant protective effects on ischemic organs. Clinical trials abroad have shown promise that treatment of patients suffering from stroke, cardiac arrest, or heart attacks may benefit from inhaling hydrogen gas during the early recovery period.

HOW OFTEN

How often should you repeat hydrogen inhalation?  Hydrogen inhalation therapy is typically done 4-5 times per week for 30 minute sessions.

 

EFFECTS

​What are the effects of hydrogen inhalation therapy?  Inhalation of hydrogen gas is a straightforward therapeutic method. Hydrogen gas can be inhaled by delivering hydrogen gas through a ventilator circuit, face mask or nasal cannula.  Since inhaled hydrogen gas acts more rapidly, it may be suitable for defense against acute oxidative stress.

 

RESULTS

What are the results of hydrogen inhalation therapy?  Hydrogen acts as a therapeutic antioxidant by selectively reducing cyto-toxic oxygen radicals.  Molecular hydrogen is the smallest and purest antioxidant that exists. H2 is far smaller than any other antioxidant, allowing it to easily enter deeper into our cells than all other Antioxidants.
